WW1 100th Anniversary Exhibit

This exhibit opens July 28, 2014 from 1-4PM. It will be open until August 10, 2014.

A special program on August 1 at 7:30PM - will be given by Nicholas Murray "The World Map After Armistice". Click here to read about this informative presentation.

On August 9th, from 1-3PM we will host a WWII veterans reunion for area veterans and anyone who was stationed or worked at the Independence Army air Base.

This quilt will be on display during the WW1 exhibit. August 9, 2014 will be the final day for the drawing for this beautiful quilt.

Military Room

For military enthusiasts and history buffs you will find much to see and absorb in our military room. Items on display run the gamut from Civil War days, World War I & II as well as Korea and Vietnam. Military Room Link.

Home Town Teams: The Hometown Teams partner exhibit will feature multiple activities that will enhance the themes of the traveling Smithsonian exhibition and provide an opportunity to engage all ages in baseball events. Click here to read more.

Fund Raiser

We have a new fund Raiser with Schwans.com. Please use the Campaign ID of 3132 when ordering. The museum will be getting a portion of each sale during the year campaign. A sample order form is here. You can go to www.schwans.com to place your order. Schwans also has an APP which you can download onto your phone, etc. That address is www.schwans.com/app.

Museum Luncheons

Luncheons are held each month on the second Friday at 12 Noon from September through May. There are only special events during the summer months. Be sure to make reservations each month. The current month's newsletter lists the menu for the day.


Wi-FI is now available in the museum for your use. You can research your family history or other research items.. You can bring your own computer, or use one of the computers available. The WIFI and the coffee bar are open during regular business hours.
